Today I’m launching a new website about Uruguay (and especially Montevideo) geared towards people who are interested in learning about Uruguay because they’re considering moving here or at least staying here for an extended period of time. The site has lots (currently over 90) of videos of day to day life in Montevideo. It’s growing quickly too!
The site is called “Your Life Abroad” and can be found here: http://www.yourlifeabroad.com. There are some videos of Montevideo and the surrounding area that are free, but most of the site costs a small fee to enter (pays for all the video shootin’).
Once you’re in you can view all the videos, comment on them, rate them, read special blog posts only on that site and request new videos. Check it out, let me know what you think!

The sample videos look great. Looks to be an interesting project.

Hola,
I love your site. I stumbled upon it today and was very intrigued. My boyfriend and his family are from Uruguay and we are planning a trip there soon.
I have been learning so much about Uruguay and the culture and food (the food!).
Do you love it there?
Keep posting so we can live vicariously.
Gracias,
Johanna & Leo

Hi,
In DC planning to move to Montevideo, ASAP. Love the site and tidbits. Gay couple, older, very settled, not wealthy, middle class. Speak Spanish, want to buy a place. One’s an artist, the other works in hotels – chance of a job? Ciudad Vieja the best place? Any info would be real helpful.
